About The Honorees

Founders

VGSA would not exist without the dreams and dedication of our founders; Ralph Frame, Faye Sanders, Ike Vilhauer and Chuck Bell. These four individuals were responsible for creating the organization, securing the land for the complex, organizing the volunteers and sponsors to build the complex and drafting the original constitution. We can only image the tremendous amount of hours and effort it took to make their dream of an all girls softball complex come to life. We owe our success and our future to these individuals and proudly induct them into the 2017 Hall of Fame.

Scott Smith

Scott has held the title of President longer than anyone else in VGSA history. His terms were 1978- 1986, 1988-1998, 2011-2016. Over the years he also served as a tournament director for numerous invitationals and WASA state tournaments. His major contributions were designing the dugout/ bullpens and having them built, finishing the upstairs area of the concession stand and working with the county and others to get the parking lot paved. He also led the effort to reconfigure the concession stand. During all of this time he also served as the District 6 JO Commissioner for 8 years and the Washington State JO Commissioner for 4 years. He remains the current President of USA Softball of Washington. VGSA has thrived under Scott's leadership and we would not be the best place for girls softball without his tireless efforts over the last 30 years!

Kim Anthony

Kim played softball for VGSA teams beginning at the age of 8 until she was 17. At a young age she played for fun and recreation but soon developed a strong passion and work ethic for the game. During her years of competition, Kim was on 4 State Championship teams, won 3 Regional titles and competed in 4 ASA National Tournaments. She graduated from Columbia River High School then went on to play four successful seasons at UNLV where she competed in 2 College World Series. Kim still holds the school record as the pitcher with the highest winning percentage in UNLV's program history. Every year Kim donates her time for multiple free clinics for VGSA coaches and players. According to Kim, "VGSA holds a special place in my heart and it is my privilege to give back to the next generation of players."
